Public Safety The Weld County Sheriff's Office’s Public Safety Division is comprised of several smaller, specialty units that contribute to the overall mission of the division.
Civil Unit Sworn law enforcement personnel that serve civil process (court-issued documents) and precepts from the courts. Sheriff sales information can be found in this section.
Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) The Weld County Regional SWAT team handles serious incidents that endanger public safety and cannot be effectively handled by regular law enforcement officers or investigative units.
Weld County Sheriff's Office K-9 Unit The Weld County Sheriff’s Office currently has five K9 teams that work in the Patrol Division. The dogs are certified to do narcotics detection, tracking and suspect capture.
Animal Control Unit Animal Control officers handle animal related complaints such as dog at-large, contained animal, animal bite, and animal welfare checks in unincorporated parts of the county.
Northern Colorado Regional Forensic Lab The Northern Colorado Regional Forensic Laboratory (NCRFL) provides forensic science services that meets the needs of the criminal justice system in the northern Colorado region.
