19th Judicial District Investigates Police Shooting in Weld County, CO

WELD COUNTY, Colo. – On Sunday, October 27, 2024, at approximately 12:16 am, deputies from the Weld 

County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of the 200 block of 2ⁿᵈ 

Avenue Lane in unincorporated Weld County.

During the incident, deputies encountered an adult male subject who was armed with a firearm. The 

male discharged the firearm while deputies were on the scene. A Weld County Deputy fired his weapon 

at the male, striking him twice. The male was transported to a local hospital for gunshot injuries. 

The male is expected to survive. There is no further threat to the general public.

The 19ᵗʰ Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) was activated and responded to 

lead the investigation into the incident.
