Weld County Fallen Officer Memorial in Greeley, CO.

WCSO Invites the Public and the Press to the Weld County Fallen Officer Memorial

[Greeley, CO] - The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is devoted to honoring all fallen officers nationwide and locally, during Police week which takes place this year during the week of May 12-18. It is in this spirit that we extend a warm welcome to the public and the press to attend the Weld County Fallen Officer Memorial.

When: May 16, 2024, at 6 PM

Where: Bittersweet Park, located at 35th Ave and 16th Street, Greeley, CO 80634

There are new additions to the memorial this year!  An Eagle Scout Troop, from the Boy Scouts of America, added marble engravings that share more information about each officer honored at the memorial. Former Sheriff, John Cooke III is going to be our guest speaker, and his grandson, John Cooke V, is a part of the Eagle Scout Troop that made the engravings for the memorial.

During the memorial, we will respectfully read off the names of the 136 law enforcement officers from across the nation who paid the ultimate sacrifice in 2023.

“It’s an important event that honors the men and women in law enforcement and aims to preserve and reflect on the legacies of those we have lost in the line of duty,” said, Weld County Sheriff, Steve Reams.

Please join us as we pay tribute to, appreciate, and support those brave men and women and their families who have lost a loved one in the line of duty. We encourage everyone to attend, and together, we will honor the legacies of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
