Versaterm CommunityConnect provides crime victims with updates on their criminal cases from start to finish.
Victims under the Weld County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction may receive notifications via text or email regarding their case status. Crime victims can choose to opt-out of these notifications.
The first step with this technology is the victim acknowledgement message. This message will communicate that the victim’s report has been received and will provide further information about the reported crime.
Versaterm CommunityConnect will send victim acknowledgment messages for specific crimes so they can connect victims with our victim services unit.
All messages from Versaterm CommunityConnect will come from (970) 355-3560. No other phone number will be used. If a citizen calls this number, they will hear a recording redirecting them to contact WCSO.
Users can opt-out of Versaterm CommunityConnect messages at the bottom of the text messages where it says to text, “Stop” to opt-out of messaging. This will prevent users from being contacted by Versaterm CommunityConnect in the future. If a user later decides they would like to receive messages, they can text START to (970) 355-3560.
LEGITIMATE TEXTS: These are two sample text messages from Versaterm CommunityConnect. Notice: it will contain a link, and the message will be in English, Spanish, and basic Chinese.
